The Abbott government has announced it will allocate $200 million over three years to the new Queensland knowledge and education system to make it “more effective and more responsive”.
The money will be used to fund the development of new, high-quality teaching and learning models.
It is understood the Government will be keen to develop the system as a model of higher learning that will be open to all, with students able to access it through a range of different pathways.
However, with the current government struggling to attract and retain teachers, there are fears the system will not attract enough students.
The Queensland Education Department said it will be a “long-term project” and there were “no immediate plans” to change the curriculum.
The department is due to release a revised plan for education in Queensland on Friday.
There are also concerns that it will not be as effective as the other state education systems.
“We are seeing a lot of schools struggling to recruit and retain the best teachers,” said Ms Gulliver.
“[There’s] a very high degree of frustration among the teachers about the lack of investment in their schools.”
She said the new plan for schools “will be focused on providing a better education for students and the communities they live in”.
“I’m hopeful it will give us the tools and the leadership that we need to improve outcomes for our students,” she said.

She announced the funding would be used over three-years to fund “more innovative and innovative learning models”.
The funding will also be used for a range for the new knowledge and learning system, including: New teaching and development models that support the skills, interests and capabilities of students.
New and expanded curricula that provide better opportunities for learning and developing students’ learning skills.
An increased emphasis on teaching and the delivery of academic and career support services.
More teachers will be able to teach in schools that are already fully equipped with teachers and learning facilities.
The department said the aim was to “enhance the learning environment and ensure Queensland schools remain the best places to learn”.
It said more than half of the Queensland public school system had been in the process of changing from the “school to school” model, with schools spending “less than half” of their annual budgets on their learning services.
“That’s because the system has become more efficient and efficient at providing services,” Ms Jones said.
“We want schools to be the best place to teach, not the best way to teach.”
“Teachers are the people who provide the skills and the knowledge that students need to thrive and succeed in the modern world.”
A key issue in Queensland schools is the high number of low-performing students, with about three in 10 failing to achieve a GED or A-level in the latest National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) released last month.
Queers have been calling for more money for their state education system.
But Ms Jones rejected calls for the state to have more money allocated to the Queensland school system.
“I don’t think the state is going to have the money to provide the education that we want to provide,” she told ABC Radio Brisbane.
