Taunport High School Principal Jason McDaniel is taking a different approach to helping students who have been affected by the state’s opioid crisis.

McDaniel said that in the past, students had been given information and assistance about opioids and other drug use and said they were often afraid to come to school.

The school system is working on a plan that would include information about opioids for students and the school’s health department.

He said that would be a major part of the plan.

McDaniels said he is taking the overdose crisis very seriously.

He wants to make sure students have access to education and to make them feel safe in the classroom.
